Victim or perpetrator? Find out in The Hunger Room!

The Hunger Room Closes June 10

The world premier of this dark thriller by West End Vancouver based playwright Ron Button, exploring loneliness, disconnection and violence continues at PAL Studio Theatre through June 10.

A crisis takes over a suburban high school when a mysterious stalker begins delivering notes written in blood to targeted female students. Soon everybody’s a suspect, including the teachers.

But what’s really happening underneath the suspicion? And what is “the hunger room” that the notes keep mentioning? As the situation escalates, students and faculty alike become more desperate to expose each other’s darkest secrets – and to protect their own.

Presented by Staircase Theatre. At PAL Studio Theatre (581 Cardero) to June 10. Information and tickets here.

Vancouver Premiere of Rumors

Western Gold Theatre presents the Vancouver premiere of Neil Simon’s Rumors as part of their Studio Series.

In play, which was Simon's first farce, three upscale New York couples are invited to a tenth anniversary party, but when they arrive, the host and hostess are nowhere to be seen – and was that a gunshot one of them heard? Everyone is intent on making their point of view known as to what has happened. This, of course, leads to the confusion and hilarity of Rumors.

This Western Gold staged reading is directed by Anna Hagan, Rumors features Paul Batten, Dave Campbell, Bob Frazer, Keith Martin Gordey, Annabel Kershaw, Camille Mitchell, Melissa Oei, Jerry Wasserman and Colleen Winton.

Only 5 performances. June 23 to 25, Friday to Sunday 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at PAL Studio Theatre (581 Cardero). Tickets here or at 604.363.5734.
